I played a 360 for the first time today, and I played Gears of War!

I no longer want a 360!

Also, Gears of War was TERRIBLE. It was really, really pretty, but the controls were ridiculous. You're supposed to push L to aim, only if you're under cover and aim NOT over the wall, you just stand up like a curious prarie dog. This is especially great when someone inevitably hops the wall and comes to murder you while people still behind the wall are continuing to shoot. Also, headshots didn't seem to 'count'. It gets an a+ for presentation and a F-- for actually playing the fucking thing.

Also, what is up with every HDTV I've tried having a lag on it? Whether it's guitar hero or any Wii game, there's a definite lag on HDTVs with any game I play.

You haven't played Gears of War until you've taken part in a few XBox live matches. The entire thing revolves around speed-dashing to the toruque bow and then proceeding to rape everyone in the vicinity, you only ever get smoke grenades, shotguns are absolutely worthless, and to top it all off the game seems to be played exclusively by 12 year olds who like to say the n word a whole lot!

It's a lot of fun, I assure you.

gw have you ever played gow i would love to show you just how useless shotguns are (its way better then the torque bow that's for sure, its so fun to just run into somone and shoot the second you are like touching them. instant gristle :D)

chojin - gears is fun. i don't see what problem you had with the aiming system, headshots "count" in the player vs player matches. if they hop the wall, you should be able to kill them in 1 shotty blast from that proximity

sounds like you guys are having problems playign the game properly

it doesn't even look like Bioshock has had a Japanese release and Blue Dragon didn't do so well in either the U.S. or Europe this week, so that's not really THAT impressive.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I just checked out the sales for opening week and prime 3 sold about 90k less (out of 400k sales) than Bioshock on their respective opening weeks, so my bad! It surprised me to hear it, but I guess I should perform COMPREHENSIVE BACKGROUND CHECKS before I post things I hear on Infendo.

I thought Gears of War was fun too, until I realized the single player campaign was 3 fucking hours long in a brilliant ploy to get me to play on Xbox live, which I eventually did. I was pretty sorry about that!

And yes, for whatever reason pretty much every multiplayer mode causes the shotgun to be about as effective as a McDonald's Happy Meal water pistol that's been sitting half buried in your back yard for a few months. And is also empty. I am literally touching the other guy and get a perfectly excecuted and centered headshot, only to find that not only is he still alive but he has just revved his fucking chainsaw bayonet up and cut me in half. Seriously, go try killing someone with a shotgun in multiplayer. It takes about five hits before the game even fucking registers it.

To be fair, I did enjoy one player mode for the lifetime of the snowball in hell it lasted, but if I wanted an awesomely gory third person shooter with precision aiming and a retarded plot I'd just go play Resident Evil 4.
