They think it's commendable to have pseudo-afros, dredlocks, baggy trousers, coffee-shop liberal glasses, exposed wallet chains, and 'angst slogan t-shirts'. They think that Marilyn Manson is Goth and Korn is metal.

They actually think it's good to employ sub-literate lingo when chatting online with their 'peeps'. This bodes VERY well for the future of this country; it's inspiring to know that this country will soon be run by brats who deal with terms like 'lol' and 'lmfao' but can'y write or hold a conversation with an actual human being (as opposed to a teen drone). Forget about being overtaken by India and China---the U.S. will be bypassed by the fetid likes of Botswana and Albania at this rate.

Most crucially, they can't think for themselves. Present them with a non-linear problem or issue and jaws slacken as upper-motor neurons piss the fuck off.

it i the right of the older generation to bemoan the state of the younger one. I too have been guilty of laughing at what the younglings are wearing, listening to, acting like on public transport. but as supafly points out rather than get my knickers in a twist I think about how I was. My mother rather delighted in dragging out the photos of my 'teen' years and showing them to my boyfriend. I thuoght I was so cool in 1989. I walked around my small town wearing 'metal' band t shirts and leggings, I wore a painted leather jacket and braided my hair. iccchhhhh. anyway, what i think older people feel is envy of the confidence of youth. These days if I put my hair in buches I feel utterly self conscious.
