Here we go folks.

I voted on my way in to work.

My stomach is in knots. I of course want kerry to win, but even more than that, I fear the swamp we may be in before the night is over. I'm praying for a clear cut victory, but fear multiple Florida's and what that could do to the country. And it makes me ill that when my country suffers the whole world feels it's pain, whether it wants to or not.

Fasten your angst belts. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

voted this morning. i was number 8 to vote in my precinct. when we got to lakewood city hall, there was about 75 people in line. by the time the doors opened and we were finished voting, the line went out the door and the parking lot was a zoo (by 7am).

i was supposed to go out with my good friend bob goddard to the east side (an area of cleveland where the minority is the majority along with being a very poor area) and watch for voter intimidation. he is putting up a reporter from the village voice named rick perlstein. unfortunately i have a stupid photography show on friday and i have to print and frame all of my photos by 6 tonight.

i'm hoping to hang out with bob and company later this evening to watch the results come in.

oh and last night, right here in my hometown about 50,000 people converged on mall c to support kerry. in wilmington, ohio about 6,000 people gathered to see george w.

i'm optimistic.

It's kind of crazy that this election is costing over $4 billion. That's almost HALF of the budget surplus that Canada had, and we were all giddy about how much extra money we had. :/

- We have no lineups over here during an election and we have a simple idiot-proof ballot standard across the country that even Vinth can ace. Everything's counted the same evening with no overpaid TV mouthpiece flip-floppin' on declaring a winner either.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Canadian voting process, we each take a one pound chunk of whale blubber and pile it in front of our candidate's igloo. Afterwards, they just weigh the blubber.

There was a scandal a few years back, though, when some people decided to stuff their blubber with buckshot.

I woke up this mornin' round 8am here on the east coast and gorggily moved my way toward a vehicle which seemed to want me to partake at Pineridge Elementary school. They had lots of Bush signs in the school yard. You know what the republicans..and smokers say: "Get em when they're young. That way they'll blindly agree with us without proper educated thought." Ah well. I casted my useless vote for kerry by about 8:30 am....watching the daily show tonight at 10 on comedy central. Hope you all do the same. Happy voting everyone.

people started lining up here about an hour before the polls opened. It's now 10:00 a.m. and it's raining blue cats...and they are still lining up. I saw on the new to expect heavy voter turnout and delays at the polls. I plan to vote after work this afternoon an my way to my night job.....

Good idea! No-one will think to vote after they leave work!

I got there 2 hours after the polls opened and had to wait in line about 2 minutes, with the whole process taking about 10.

Thought it was interesting that with voting for judges, it said 'no more than 4', and there were only 4 choices. And they don't tell you that you don't have to vote for any of them. Unless they plan on using that against me to invalidate my vote. In the which case, USA! USA! USA!

Oh, and Kerry. ;<

I really could push this into the Mockwars section on a serious note, after watching Farenhiet 9/11 and still seeing Bush and Kerry neck and neck I'm confused. Can someone explain why so many people still think Bush is the way to vote?

There are many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many stupid and uninformed and /or lazy people in the US.

given the snatches of conversations i heard, i think just about everyone at the american legion hall--my voting precinct--was voting for bush. a lot of old people. and the lady behind me in the a-j line had so much perfume on i can still smell it an hour later.

Republicans are VERY party loyal. Even Republicans who don't like Bush are voting for him, rather than vote for a Democrat.
