GOD OF FUCKING WAR

Came out last week. I bought it, and I just started playing today.

And holy fuck. You know how people always talk about "Must-Have" games? Well, guess what this is.

I'm blown away. Blown the fuck away. Wow. I'm all stiff from sitting there tensing up from all the fighting. And holy shit is the fighting fun. There's a ton of special combos and moves (you get more as you increase your skill levels), and they're ALL effective. Other games with this kind of combat, you end up resolving to one or two surefire combos, and the rest is just fluff, and it makes fighting very tedious. But fhsafhaskdhfkasf EVERY move in this game is a fucking treat.

So far, I've gotten up to an 83-hit combo.

And the levels are really fucking awesomely designed, the enemies are really fucking awesomely tough, and just Jesus CHRIST EVERYONE NEEDS THIS GAME YOU HAVE NO IDEA LIKE WOAH.

And the interactive minigame-like fight sequences are great. Do enough damage to some of the bigger enemies, and you'll get a chance to finish them off (or do significant damage) by pressing buttons at the right time. They look cinematically awesome, and they're fun because you're actually doing it instead of watching a cutscene of the game doing it for you.

And there's a sex minigame too. :o

Ares is such a ******, his stupid explosion-in-your-face-then-i-stab-you-and-take-half-your-health move sucked ass. I'm trying God mode now, maybe i'll be done that some time in the next year or two. I wish the Blades of Athena were re-usable, though. What's the fun of only getting them for the Challenge of the Gods?

You know you can slam them, right? I'm more worried about fighting those jackals together with the regular soldier zombies on the Cliffs of Madness. It's impossible to keep those bastards all grouped together.


edit: also, those cerberus dogs. IMPOSSIBLE to deal with unless you ROTG them right away and pray they don't re-spawn.

jackals are insanely easy. even rage of the gods and poseidon's rage won't help you against the clones. it can't be done.

Jackals are easy enough, but when you have those bastards doing flips at you and the jackals killing you in two hits it seems like it would be kinda tough. I used Army of Hades against the clones, it belts out a lot of health from whatever enemy you use it on when you start comboing them. Lord knows that part will still make me cry. The first rope battle above Athens was hard enough ;_;
