Yeah, what's the point of a circular D-Pad when almost none of the games on the NES have diagonal movement?

Regardless of the circular design, it should still only have 8-way action like an original NES controller. There were a ton of games that required diagnal movement. More than I can name.

What's 'NeoFami'?

Also, how much is it? (If it's for sale)

The NeoFami is a Famicom (japanese version of NES) compatible console.
The NEX is $60 including shipping. Compare that to a toploader for about $100 or an original box-style NES with a new 72-pin connector for $40ish. Probably worth the money.

It's a third party system. It'll probably get sued before they sell any.

Wait a minute, I thought part of the reason Nintendo quit making side-loaders was because it bent the prongs and such over time. How come these guys decided to make one like that?

Authenticity, I would imagine. Besides, it's got a top loader adapter too, doesn't it? Or is that just for Famicom games?

That's how I read it.

What about controllers? The ports look just like the old ones, so are they compatible with old controllers?

This is cool except for finding the original games. Most are in bad shape and/or overpriced.

I hate to piss off a purist like McClain but I love my NES emulator for Dreamcast more than anything else. It has all the american, japanese and european releases on it, and all those funky 25, 50 and 100 in ones too, AND all on one disc.

That's doesn't upset me. For the longest time I considered buying a mini-itx so I could mount a PC in an old NES console. There are lots of people who have done this already but it was just too expensive.
As far as Doc's observation, yes, Nintendo got rid of the front-loaders because of the wear on the contacts. After a while the springy metal prongs got bent. But remember how you had to insert the game then press it down? It was the downward motion that did the most damage. It would initially give the ROM more surface contact with the pins, but over time it wore out.
I'm sure the pin connector they're using in this is a tight fit and straight on. No movement required.

Q: Will the system be able to use any of the licensed Nintendo accessories, such as the Zapper gun or NES Advantage controller?
A: Yes. There are two controller ports for use with all your favorite original NES accessories including the four-player adapter and Zapper light gun.
