and this is the so reason why so many guilds get started.
Everyone wants to create their own guild. A week later upon creation, they grow stagnant, and cease in guild activities.

QED, Mockery. We created a guild that was born from the very idea of the Website. Yet, with only half of the WoW/Mock-board players being on the same server, the idea of the Guild Mockery Died.

If we created a guild with Frassk's idea of "Basement Empire" we have the humor of the name, and the sterotype of the WoW gamers playing, it would of been a bigger sucess then Mockery.

the point wasn't to have an uber successful guild full of random gamers.

or it wasn't for me, anyway.

I dunno who changed the guild message, but I don't have any intention of disbanding Mockery. You can park your alt there, and stuff. Mockery just didn't have enough people to do any serious attempts at the high level stuff.

BTW, Razorgore down. :O

Inter-guild conversations are facilitated by the ability to make your own chat channels.

No, it wasn't the point to have a success full guild, but to have a guild. Many times I have played and not seen a single living soul but Herbie's alt as he drops on from time to time.

Pissed me off it did.

I heard WoW puts all the competition to shame, CoV and CoH included.

We're up to killing Flamegor now. Having a lot of trouble with that one for some reason, though :/

And I heard you just LVE Creed...

Actually a lot of MMOs have features or functionality that put the similar aspects of WoW to shame. Not that there aren't some things WoW did better than other MMOs.

The auction house is awesome. The mailboxes and banking are great. The crafting system, while on the whole not very essential, does have some very nice features. The destructive effect of patches on UIs if horrible.

The graphics are nice, if a bit cutesy, but other MMOs excell in graphics as well. The arena PvP for low level characters was abysmal back when I cancelled. The high-end content is very epic-raid oriented and the PvP bits almost felt like an afterthought (this is a second hand opinion from another MMO gamer who rocketed to 60 on multiple characters and cancelled long before I did - and really, if you're a fan of Everquest, then this is great. If your a fan of more PvP oriented MMOs this is terrible).

The sheer volume of servers makes it very difficult to play on the same sever as all of your friends, which is probably my biggest complaint. I've friends who play on 3 different servers, and I suppose I could try to play on all three or just pick which friends I like gaming with the most. But that's pretty shitty.

i love WoWs cartoony style, its very much like WCIII (except a bit LESS cartoony :P)

most other MMORPGS tend to look realistic, and trolls and orcs and such dont look cool with a realistic style

5.5 million players makes it quite necessary to have as many servers as possible. In fact, I think they should add more. Other MMORPGs actually have to combine servers because they lack the number of players to support them. They finally locked Laughing Skull for new characters.

And everyone I know IRL who quit WoW for some other MMORPG (Guild Wars, CoV) have all come back to WoW saying that the other game sucks.

that's because there's not enough heavy petting and "OMGWOFFLES OWNED KTHX" talk and horrible role playing as there probably is in WoW.

To be honest, I'm beginning to hate testiment. I'm always looking for ppl to run BRD or LBRS and I all get is ppl yacking about the next raid or winning in AB. Yes I understand that raids are the primary concern, but when your guildmates flat out refuse to help, well it sucks. I'm thinking of moving on.

Anyone who wants to gay up this thread in the non-traditional way of not being really boring while actually talking about game content can do it in this new thread:
