i've seen ROB played but not played him yet. as far as i know though, he's very overpowered and it's basically impossible to die because of not being able to recover.

i've used pit in SSE and i like using him. his forward special is very useful for taking out groups of enemies. but, i guess this actually doesn't say anything because i'm only talking from an SSE reference point. :( sorry

So, apparently, I've unlocked a whole bunch of characters already just by going through a little over half of adventure mode. ROB is fun. Lucario is pretty good too. I haven't tried game and watch though. I just unlocked him and didn't get a chance to play as him yet.

Dedede's final smash, like most others, is worthless in giant levels. I played Hyrule Temple against a Level 9 Wario and got the smash ball FIVE TIMES and still didn't kill him once.

As of right now, I absolutely hate Meta-Knight. I can't see how anyone could ever be good with him. He's got such terrible range and no power moves.

I also can't use Jigglypuff nearly as well as I used to, she just feels a little heavier I guess. Or her momentum shift is slower, or SOMETHING.

I'll get my friend code later, but the online play is bullshit for this. I don't know if it's server overload or what, but Strikers works beautifully online and this just runs like junk. Out of about 7 matches tried, two of them got finished to completion with tons of lag, two froze mid-match to disconnect me, and the rest never got past the punching bag screen.

I thought this is why we waited for the delay? Or was that so that they could cook up the AMAZING way that they introduced Sonic in SSE? ;<

SSE itself was kinda okay the first time through, I actually liked the amazing maze near the end more than the rest of it, but I can't see why I'd ever want to play that again.

Where this game shines is huge straight-up melee parties :o The extra content is sorta nice, but really unnecessary. I'd much rather they'd spent all of the time from SSE on making online matches work.

The online play on the wii is a joke to begin with, but yeah, what really bugged me about this is that after the delays and shit, I kind of, I dunno, expected to be able to join random games online.

SSE was enjoyable for me, for the most part. I liked about half of the little cut scenes but a lot of them were just dumb (THANKS FOR SAVING THE DAY, SONIC!). Captain Falcon's intro was pretty funny.

And no, I don't say that when I play any game. I just think that for a current gen system, it'd be nice if I didn't have to use my last gen controller because this game is shit with their current one. Online is absolutely horrible, and I dunno if it's just my wii crapping out after a year, but I don't like when it takes more time than it should to load the fucking main menu.

Every game I've played has ignore capabilities as well, so I doubt that'd be too much of a problem. The main use would be talking to your friends and the other "normal" people who play. It's fun being able to talk to the people you're playing with/against.

got to play this the other day. i'd say sonic is probably my favorite character and snake is my worst. i like sonic mainly because of his speed i think. his moves are just spin dashes or variations of it though. :x his final smash is pretty cheese too.

ike is another favorite of mine. he's a little faster than i figured he would be and his moves hit really hard.

It feels like they balanced everything out some, which is good, but for whatever reason Melee's speed and fluidity have been taken away and the entire game feels incredibly sloggy and gay. I might just be having trouble getting used to it, but there really wasn't any reason to slow everything down.

I've found the Ice Climbers to be considerably improved, but they've still got one hell of a learning curve.

And speaking of learning curves, Snake is really god damn hard to play. I had the misfortune of picking him when we played on Big Blue. ;_;

Snake's weird because of his smash attacks, how do you charge planting a landmine? Along with the other attacks that take some getting used to, of course.

I think as far as the hardest learning curves, it goes Olimar, Snake, Ice Climbers, Sonic and Ness as the top five.

Snake's pretty tough, but there are some great combos he can pull off. His throws are great for setting up into the remote C4, and the grenades can really fuck up someone's approach. You can't see a lot of what Snake does unless you look very closely, so use that to your advantage.

I'm god awful using Snake's grenades. Your other choices make sense, because Olimar is brutal the first couple time.

One of the tricks I learned just earlier today was that if you drop the C4 with your down special, you can actually detonate it in midair. I think you can drop grenades while being attacked too, which seems like a great combobreaker, it'll blow both you and him to hell.

Olimar takes way too much micromanagement for me. I can play him well and all, but I don't really take care of my Pikmin or anything, I just hit someone and see what happens. Good Olimar players will probably be some of the best in the game, but they'll have to get over his recovery, the worst in the game. I think he, like Dedede, will be excellent in 1v1 but HORRIBLE in free-for-alls.

Schimid won a 64-man tourney yesterday with dedede.

He was fighting this one dude who had a TEAM with him that were all color-coordinated. The nerdy white kid he brought with him at one point picked up a couch pillow and screamed into it after his hero was defeated. The girl screamed things like NOOOOO when he got knocked out ;< Afterwards, they both came up to console him and give him little shoulder massages.

Well it was 64 entrant, with each person being allowed to choose up to three characters ;(

There were about 28 people in all, some picking three but most picking one or two. The guy I was playing was pretty much my only challenge...I knocked out one of his guys, he knocked out one of mine, and I finally beat him the third time to completely knock him out of the tourney.

But seriously, he had six or seven people around him cheering him on. The worst part is that after I lost, his chum was all for sportsmanship and shaking hands. Didn't say shit when I won. :|

Dedede is an interesting character, although I just can't seem to get good with him... Half of of his B moves are sorta crappy in my opinion.

I very rarely use his neutral B (inhale) and I never, ever use the jet hammer.

HOWEVER. I usually keep a constant stream of Waddle Dees coming, they're so useful and I'm naturally a pretty lucky guy, so I'll pull a Gordo pretty often. Apart from that, his back air is sicknasty and if you catch someone in a front smash, it's pretty much a one-hit kill.

About 80% of my fighting with Dedede is grabbing--his grabs have such high priority that others can't hit you when you reach for them. This coupled with his chaingrab is a disgusting combo. And even if you can't chaingrab them, a dthrow > dash will almost always hit an opponent that's trying to roll away. If they're more aggressive, just dthrow > fsmash and trust me, they'll never do it again.

I recently discovered a latent ability to be a huge dick with Peach and I don't know how or why, but I'm ready to take all y'all faggots on.

Dedede's forward smash is my favorite setup move in the game. There's a huge OSHIT factor that paralyzes the opponent with fear and it's pretty much a OHKO against anyone lighter than Mario.

Which is like,

half the roster.

Basic tips are learn the range of the dash, use your tilts (forward tilt is the best), grab a lot and use down-smash to beat up rollers.

Which is most of the time. Otherwise I roll with Toon Link. I've also found that certain characters are better suited to one on one matches or group fights, so when it's a free for all I'm usually Lucas.

The ability to float doesn't make much of a difference if you're stuck just one inch below the safety of a stage's edge. :(

Also, now that I've honed my skillz with her toad block I've improved considerably. It's easily the best counter in the game; the only things it can't stop and reflect are golden hammers and final smashes.

I haven't played the new Smash, but in Melee it could be used to block thrown objects, like bombombs, or to interrupt long attacks from a distance, like Donkey kong charging up his punch and stuff like that.

There are probably better uses for it, but I didn't play with her much (unless like you, I felt like being a dick) but those are the only real ones I found. Or you could have a throwing match with another Peach, seeing who gets hit first. That's always fun.

I just wish it had more than one game mode, since every match I've been in consists of everyone slapping everyone else around for 2 minutes and then seeing who won.

i was juggling between diddy and lucas for awhile, but i've decided on diddy. banana, cartwheel, repeat, wonderful combo. his meteor smash is wonderful, as well as his forward air. just recently i saw a video of diddy doing his forward special onto a falling foe, which didn't allow the foe to move whatsoever, then detaching towards the bottom of the screen and getting back up to the stage. pretty sweet, and yeah, i'm currently practicing that.
