Ghost Movies!
Of all the horror sub-genres out there, ghost stories/movies are my least favorite, seeing as how most are painfully boring and, in the end, all are about fucking ghosts. I don't care they're portrayed, ghosts are the useless dweebs of the monster universe. My opinion, take it or leave it.
...Anyway, despite this, two ghost movies have always stood out in my mind, for completely different reasons.
On the cheesy end of the spectrum, we "The Changeling", an awesome movie starring none other than George C. "Motherfucking Patton" Scott. (For all of you who haven't seen a great George C. Scott movie, let alone Patton, he's John Rainbird from Firestarter.) It's a great movie, in a hammy, more-ominous-than-remotely-scary-The Omen kinda way. Child murder, conspiracy, phantom wheelchairs, and big rigs crushing families abound.
Next, we have "The Devil's Backbone" by Guillermo Del Toro, who you should all know by now. Seriously, see this fucking movie, it's about as good as a ghost movie can ever be.
You guys have any favorites?
