Unless you are trying to save money why don't you just get that THX Surround Set from Logitech. They are (IMO) one of the best speaker sets out there and they will give you way better sound that 2 speakers and an amp.
Edit: they are around 300 dollars here so that means in USA they are probably only about 80 bucks. Free Trade my ass
