i was pretty exhausted and quite blind when i returned home last night after my band's gig. mah boys rocked that place.
and i had my new monitor right beside me, so i didn't have to scream to hear myself. (though i enjoy screaming when i choose. :P) one day i'm gonna rip some songs and even find some decent space to upload, so i can share. (we record every show and practice.) the guitar player, especially, is amazing. we ended last night with a version of humble pie's "i don't need no doctor" that kicked major amounts of arse.
we broke down. we burned down. and i awoke to the phone at about 4am. i had an indentation on my left arm (right through those elbow bones, even
) from my head pressing it against the edge of my desk. lol. and it was my neighbors complaining about my dog barking outside. (the fuckers even called my dad about the same last weekend when i was out.
)
i just finished a cd liner for a friend. his third cd is almost complete, and we wanna get it all done in time for the bluesfest we're playing the 20th. we're opening up for some cool acts, like jimmy thackery and bob margolin. (

i'm not sure when i'm coming to richmond. i've an open invitation to stay at my bass player's house, but my car is about to leave me stranded on the side of the road. so i'm at the mercy of a friend's whim, not a terrible place to be given the circumstances. did you already check out the train schedules, proto? :O
i've gotta pick up my son from school in a bit. it's fun doing the mom thing. for the last six years, i had to drop ry off at daycare in the morning and pick him up near the last minute. there was barely enough time for dinner and homework, and every night was tension-filled. plus, my ex and i have joint custody, an every other week deal. so on my off-weeks, i'd only see ry on wednesdays. this year, i've been parking the car up the road from the school and walking the dog down to soak up kiddie love, and seeing my baby boy (who's now just inches shorter than me, with feet bigger than mine. fifth grade. whoah.) every day. now, on my off-weeks, his dad picks him up from my house after work.
i've been listening to cree summer since i woke up. ("you're so mean when you scream in bright green.") i've gotta get the artwork cd to my friend. and i've gotta deal with my parents who are not pleased i'm singing rock 'n' roll in redneck joints and shit 'cause they're keeping my son tonight. and i've gotta be ready to leave town at 6 for a show in nc.
