that looks like the 'newswire' where anyone can post.. it's bound by the 'honor' system.. they recommend the story be truth etc.
each indy also has its own standards.. the articles that get moved to the main pages are picked by the individual indiemedia shop.. (istanbul is different from say NY or nevada) 'editors' and membership is mostly loosely democratic.. ie if you are there often and contribute you may be considered an editor if its ok with the group(each has different rules).. otherwise its no holds barred post what you want. this causes obvious problems of credibility etc..
