Max, I think that's a title, not a thought bubble.
But yeah, it didn't strike me as all that funny either. Though I think what saves it from utter pointlessness is that he's really yelling everything, which portrays him as just a little dumber, because if he were going to retract everything he said he'd talk a little more quietly.
