It's just indicative of the prevarication and gross exagerration that have been running themes in this whole operation. There was a documentary produced by CBC Newsworld called 'Deadline Iraq: Uncensored Stores from the War'. It was a series of interviews with journalists who were in Iraq covering the invasion. Remember the television reports of Saddam's statue being pulled down? I remember being led to believe that thousands of Iraqis had spontaneously gathered to celebrate their liberation by toppling that statue. It turns out, according to journalists who were present at the scene, many of whom were American, that the crowd numbered in the small hundreds and that the military had to round up even this amount. After the crowd had been assembled, military officers went to the Palestine Hotel and escorted several journalists to the city square so they could officially document the event.
