yea sounds like the monitor, I would just test another one if your dad has one, or even test you monitor on another sytem if you can.
the system beeps make me think the video card acting up is another possibillity, has the system ever beeped 3 times and worked? does it always beep 3 times? does it only work times were it just beeps once?
