You could have used 'bit of more than they could chew', and have them chewing on a hand grenade. Or eating a big mac and becoming cronically fat and suing McDonalds. Cripes, today we had an announcement over the intercom in the middle of class, that east side McDonalds (the one closest to us) was closing for first lunch, and there was cheering when they announced it would be re-opened for second lunch through the rest of the day.
