Jimi was a very innovative guitarist, but he isn't nearly as innovative as Django Rhinehart, Albert King, Elmore James, Duane Allman, Wes Montgomery, and Leo Keottke. Most people I know who worship Jimi don't know dick about music. They claim that he dicovered notes that never existed and that he made the sound of bombs dropping with his guitar. I think most people really think Jimi was the best because of his character.
IMO I think there is no best anything when it comes to music, theres only favorites, concidering that there are so many different styles.
