In my memory, I've never heard of a similiar report by the Pentagon identifying climate change as one of the great challenges, if not the greatest challenge, to American strategic interests. As well, this isn't an NGO that could be criticized by the American government; this is actually a branch of the government. That alone should make Americans start to pay attention to this issue.
You have a president who is trying to sell himself as the national security candidate, yet he is skeptical and dismissive about the very security issue for which his military advisors are preparing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. George Bush is a dumb ass. I just hope the American electorate can wake up to this fact before the presidential ballots are cast.
