People act like these school shootings happen every other day. They aren't. The fact that we are so shocked and react so overdramatically shows that these are rare occurances.
Spousal abuse is far more common, but no one wants to ban Monday Night Football (not that I think its related, I'm just using an easy stereotype to make my point).
