I also failed to mention that I have streaks across my monitor. For instance, If I have a black square on a white background on my computer, the screen will show a faded grayish streak horizontal from the image. I've learned to live with that, but at least I fixed the darkness. I don't feel like dying much right now, so I'll just eventually buy a new monitor.
