I think the same thing will happen here that has happened to every other world power in history: Economic disparity will reach a point where the masses of poor will no longer tolerate it, there will be a bloody revolt, and the whole pile of shit will start all over again.
The human race is too fucking stupid and self-absorbed to learn from its history, and I root enthusiastically for its inevitable destruction.
