Ontological? Perhaps. Personally, I would sooner ascribe to theories touching on linguistics and cognition rather than perception. If one accepts Qualia as an absolute - or at least a variable that lends itself as a universal stimulii- the problem of 'being' or 'experiencing' becomes one of utterance and translation. This being said, the problem with Plato's Cave is reduced to poor vocabulary.
