I don't actually think that he was that much of a musician, but one thing that can be said is some of his lyrics were pretty heartfelt.
"The finest day that I ever had
Was when I learned to cry on command
Love myself better then you
I know it's wrong so what should I do"
But not actually thinking about it I think they were just a band that changed the pace and type of music. Remember soundgarden, pearl jam? All those bands brought the grunge era, the end of the 80s rock like guns n' roses. Unfortunately grunge lasted far too long and after it had finished we had brit pop. Yuk Yuk! Hopefully now with bands like The Darkness, things are looking up!
