If he's your friends uncle, odds on he won't try to make you cry. There's a whole club in science fiction writting sub culture, and to be a member, H.L. has to have made you cry in public. Is chock full of members.

On the other hand he's written some kick ass stories. For my money, "A Boy and His Dog" and pretty much everything in "Love ain't nothin' but sex misspelled" rock.

If he starts to get angry and turn red, remind him his Doctors have told him not to. I have also heard that when he wants to be he is charming and genteel.

If you want to see him turn red though, just say "I thought 'City of the edge of forever' was the best Star Trek Episode ever!"
