Are you healthy enough for medical experiments?

The absolute bottom of the unemployment pitt for me came during the ressision of the late eighties. All my freelance comedy clients moved to NYC or LA, my comedy group wasn't getting any college gigs anymore and we couldn't make our monthly van payment let alone pay the members and I just couldn't accept that I would have to go and look for a real job with a real boss. I worked three days at an upscale bakery and then this woman walked in and asked me "Those Walnut Dream Bars... do they have... Walnuts in them" And I quit. So I went down to the medical district, newspaper in hand, to 'audition' for medical experiments. And I got turned down for every single one.
