Dean couldn't continue to run against the war without an exit strategy. Bush's presumptive plan would have our soldiers home sooner than Kerry's, me thinks. But I think a broader base of Americans understand that even though you may have opposed the war, you can still see reason in supporting the occupation. We broke it, now it's ours. I think even Dean has accepted this stance, and he has thrown his full support behind Kerry, who essentially holds this stance. I don't know that Dean's would be any different, were he the candidate......
