As long as you get enough excercise, you can maintain your weight and eat more calories than usual. Carbs are energy, when you burn them your body immediantly will start burning more calories and you'll lose some fat.
Eating to replenish the carbs wont add any extra weight other than muscle.
Diets are bullshit because no matter how intense and commited you are, once you've lost you're target weight you'll go back into bad habits.
