I have to admit that the aiming is both good and bad. Hard to explain, but while locking on is great, toggling between targets can be very difficult when in a gunfight. That's why I always used a Python, and did the "quick draw" (R1, fire, let go. R1, fire, let go. As fast as you can, since the Python is the fastest handgun, great accuracy and kills in one hit).
As for the "free range" aiming, with guns like the rocket launcher and sniper rifle, the aiming is very tight.
