I didn't consistently read the whole thing since the nazi adjectives started to wear on my tolerance for shouty overly leftist propaganda (but don't let that stop you, ranxner), but I certainly agree that the terrorist alert card is probably far too tempting for the current administration to pass up on. However, I don't think I'm being naive when I say that they wouldn't make up a threat completely out of the blue. Undoubtedly they'd exaggerate one for all it's worth, but I don't think Bush will be sitting in a bunker 10,000 feet below the earth's crust with his sharp-nailed finger hovering over a swastika-labelled button to commence "Operation: Crush Democracy". Plus the article's theory on how these satanic fuhrer tactics will separate democratic voters from republican ones sounds rather ludicrous.
All the same, I would applaud that all steps are taken to keep America safe on election day while at the same time, everything is done to keep the voters from casting an unobstructed vote.
