I gather it is possible that extra-terrestrials have visited the earth in the past, though I find it unlikely. I see two problems with this.

1) How would the aliens have been able to communicate with us? And how would they have been able to explain difficult concepts like white dwarfs and the like to these people? furthermore - why would they do this?

2) Secondly. Wouldn't this have at least have made a far bigger impact on history? Think of how simple legens like Arthurt have influenced us to this day. Think of how things like the Loch Ness monster continue to exist. Hercules, etc... surely the existance, and visit, of aliens would have resonated through history, instead of these simple merman stories and the one tribe.

I don't know, man. The will to believe that this is possible, and has happened, is strong with me. But I don't believe it.
