I think it's very relevant. He refused to take a medical exam and admits to having had a long-term alcohol problem. The underlying causes of alcoholism and drug addiction don't simply go away, even with treatment. Evidently Bush's only treatment was that Jesus made him better. Since I have no evidence that Jesus fixed him, I have to assume that the same personality disorders that led him to abuse alcohol and illegal drugs for many years are still extant. And his finger is on the trigger.
