I am reminded of the SNL sketch when Bush sr. was running against Dukakis. It was the debate, Lovetz played Dukakis, Carvey was Bush and at one piont after a particularly choice Bush banality, Dukakis looked straight into the camera and said

"I can't believe I'm loosing to this guy".

Zuhk: "I don't think Kerry would be any worse or any better than GW on the international front"

I think you're wrong on this one. While Kerry's policy would be nowhere near what I wanted, it would not be the blind, moronic, infantile, simplistic rush to a deluded vision of power typified by W's administration. Kerry is nowhere near as vapid as W, and he would not surround himself with powermad paranoiacs like Cheney and rumsfled, or Jihadist reactionaries like Ashcroft. Kerry is not a full blown isolationsit. Kerry (hopefully) doesn't think ruling the world is our manifest destiny.

Do I tust Kerry on Foreign policy? No I do not. But he is a very different man than W. Look at the tremendous strides W has made in changing the relationship of the US to the world. What might he be able to do in four more years, four years in which he would not even have to think about anything political beyond not getting impeached? I tremble at the very thought.
