G-Mail's a lot more worthless than I had originally estimated - You can't send large files to people, so there is really no point at all in having all that extra space unless you plan on using the service for years and years. And regardless, any POP3 mail service lets you download messages into Outlook or equivalent, and then your storage is limited by your hard drive, which in most cases is way over 1GB.
