umm i dont think you can weld doors shut. The welder, if it remains unchanged from the beta, simply fires a blob of 'solder' with alt fire then if you drag another objects with solder on into contact with the aformentiond 'solder' then they will attach to each other. It can however be broken with enough force.
I think the 'climbing though higher windows' thing is probably not true, The AI is good but not that good. Also the 'war of the worlds thing' I think it called a strider, and they can only blast though specific walls. The source engine does not have any type of geo-mod technology.
