She helped a lot with it. I cut up and built the inner metal framework for it and then she sewed the orange fabric around it and sewed on the eye holes. Then I took care of the flaming head by cutting out a large piece of styrofoam, using some pumpkin lights, and multi-colored cellophane and tissue paper. Then she cut out the pseudo-flippers that rest on top of my real shoes with some green foam pieces. It was a really long process, but it was definitely worth it. I haven't made a costume from scratch in a long time. I took pictures of the process which I'll post later so people can see how to make their very own flaming carrot costume.
