That statement sounds not only completely closed-minded, but a little naive as well. What do you think of 'drunk stories'? How about dreams? Faith?
'Drug stories' bore me when they are bullshit (e.g.
Mickey Mouse chased me when I dropped cartoon acid!! 
), exaggerated, or circle-jerk contests of who did more and/or who has been more 'fucked up'. Personally, I found Bubba's 'drug story' quite interesting. It sounded like he had a very insightful trip and he explained it quite coherently; what's the problem exactly?
Just because the kid in your high school that smoked a joint on the weekend sounded retarted when he bragged about it Monday morning in homeroom doesn't mean you can generalize everyone else who experiments with drugs in that same light.
