From what I heard, the last one wasn't republican votes found in the electronic machine, it contained "4000 undetermined votes" which was cleared out after lawsuits were threatened by Kerry's and Bush's people.
Whoever did this knew they would be discovered, so putting "republican-votes" before it might not be wise if this was meant as an attack agaisnt them. It sounded much more like someone was trying to purposely make questions arise about the reliability of the machines. Because whoever had the ability to put them on, would also know that the machines would be inspected. Hell, you don't even have to know what one looks like to know that.

And as for the minorities being intimidated at the polls, I heard that everyone was being intimidated at the polls. And sadly both parties were found doing the intimidating at different prescincts. It always angers me more when I see people who are "on my side" doing things like this, more than anyone else.
