Believe it or not there isn't really anything like this for HL2 yet.
All the TCs are still in development and the SP mods are mostly just giving weapons real names or adding save games where they have spawned more enemies around the maps.
All of the people who have a good degree of C++/Visual studio skill are all hard at work on Total convrsions which will not be relased for a few months yet.

I have tried to keep the weapions balenced by limiting ammuntion etc and not making them overly unrealistic but also making them more fun to use.
For instance the SPAS12 shotgun in real life can be gas operated, i.e. not pump action, which was not present in the original game.
And you could not disable the guideing laser as you could in HL1 by default.
These kind of things just add a bit of extra fun while you are strafeing round corners in slow motion.

But if you think you can implement weapon fire mode changes or increase 'for loop' values to spawn aditional blood particles with a basic text editor go right ahead.
