It is a good thing, but I read recently that the car manufacturers are losing their shirts in the production of hybrids. They're supposedly expensive to make, nobody can afford them, but the companies do it anyway because it's good for p.r.
Granted, I read this in the neo-con rag the Weekly Standard, but it sounded accurate.
