Is it possible that its a marketing thing?

What better way to get your name fresh in the minds of people than to put it on the news about it being bad. Then people will go to see just HOW bad the food really is, They can make back the money they lose in a lawsuit in less than a year so in essence there probably making more money and getting publicity.

this is far from the first time that mcdonalds has come 'under fire' for being bad for you, and the last time it happened they added 'adult happy meals' that were way less bad for you than their normal menu on account of the bad rap.

i spent $4 at mcdonals yesterday and got!

1 mcchicken
1 dbl cheeseburger (i'd hit it)
2 apple pies
1 small drink

which all came out to 1700 calories in total

which is really a bargain if you ask me

btw, they changed their 'I'd hit it' ads to something else, it starts with a g ;<

Is that really true? Its not the case in the uk. I could feed me and the missus for 3 days on fresh food with what we would spend in macdonalds in one day if we ate 3 meals there, eeeeeaaasy.

I didn't see that you were in the UK - mea culpa. I can't speak for anyplace other than the US or Japan, which are quite different in terms of grocery prices, but where I'm at now (midwestern US) it's FAR FAR cheaper to eat crap and processed food than it is to buy and eat healthy. Books have been written on this.

But yeah, McDonald's here is REAL cheap.
