The fact that all anime is inhherantly identical in terms of plot, character, setting etc. Its a form of escapism. All the anime's on earth start with a little outcast wuss of a kid with 2-4 friends tops, hes hopeless with girls. Then the story taces a twist like a granny finding a parkingspot, in the form of the kid being either recruited or endowed with/into some sort of abilities, these give him confidence, and ultimateley kill him and what little he had. They shoot to their target audience thats like the kid they starded wiht in the show.
Case in point, Evangelion, Zeta Gundam, RahXephone, Guyver. Thats all I can name because After Raxhephon I wanted to kill myself.
