Well what I do with ramen (not the cups, dammit, the plastic packs) I throw away that crappy package of "chicken flavor" or whatever the hell it is and throw in salt, pepper, and good ol' hot sauce. It makes a surprisingly tasty broth and I guarantee you it won't be bland

I tried this a few days ago and almost puked. I've never been very experimental with ramen, as I usually stick to chicken and beef.
