Difficulty isn't too great for a while, particularly because the first ID you get can heal you (with adequate hearts). The battle with Legion was rough, and there is one small area in particular that I have not yet been able to go through without dying.
Difficulty increases a little when you're trying to steal from every enemy, particularly the bosses.
