common sense to realize the distinction between evolution and creation, enough to realize that if you ripped your heart out you would die. "But if you took the spring out of the mousetrap it wouldn't work anymore. Clearly, this indicates that evolution must be wrong." If that was the case, the fact that we can die would prove that evolution is wrong, and somehow I have a feeling that darwin knew that death occured. In fact, I think it probably had a little something to do with his theory.
Common sense doesn't necessarily equate to being a genius.
