I'm not going to spin my tires on this. Go read up on the Contract With America, Pat Robertson, Ralph Reed, and the origins of the Christian Coalition.
John McCain doesn't speak for an ideological majority either. It doesn't make him any less of a national party leader. Robertson may not be a leader
now, but that's irrelevant. He is passed his prime. But make no mistake, in his day, he was quite influential.

The DNC is a national committee. The people of New Orleans elected Nagin, not the DNC.
