So about a few billion years ago the Mitochondria and Cellular creatures had symbiotic relationships as seperate creatures but eventually the Mitochondria became trapped and dominated by the Nucleus of other cells.
Then flash up to the 1998 and you have "Eve" who is the result of the Mitochondrion central cellular structure, thus using the massive amounts of ATP the cells are capable of producing to evolve herself and those beings around her (her hate for humanity causes the mitochondria to produce energy simultaniously thus causing the body to combust) to evolve as she sees fit.
Then in a very Japanese twist Eve also wants to create the Perfect Being.
