No, it's the original story. Just don't get the novelization, cuz THAT'S the movie plot.

EDIT: BTW, thought you might get a kick out of this. I already posted it in the Politics "V" thread, but fuck it.

That's me and my girlfriend at the premier of the movie. Fuck you guys, it's fun to dress in costume.
