I'm rarely one to fully trust the CIA's motivations or information, but...

If Wolfowitz is Keen on Chalabi, thats a big reason to research him thoroughly.

My aging mind is like a seive, but I think the New Yorker ran a profile on Chalabi a few years back that raised several question about his credability, the level of support for the INC among exiles, let alone Iraqis in Iraq, and his qualities as a leader.

Above all, we'd want someone leading Iraq who doesn't seem to be an American puppet. Flying him in by Military transport before the war is even over seems like an official US endorsement and can't help.
