I know what you mean. It had that plain battle interface, the overly elaborate menu (although I think FF had that too) just for pressing the action button, annoying dialog, blah blah blah. Also, the game files kept on erasing. Battery memory must of been dying.

Dragon Warrior was classic. I don't play the original these days but as a kid it was interesting and ooooh so epic
