That really does suck to be mugged like that. A few months back my sister was working at the liquor store where she's part-time and a normal looking 20 something guy came in. He chatted with her about wine and shit for about 20 minutes before suddenly pulling a gun out and pointing it at her face. She gave him about 800 in cash and he ran out to his car, which the idiot had parked right in front of the store where a customer who came in memorized the plates. Turns out the guy ended up in a chase from the cops and eventually was stopped. Oh, turns out the gun was stolen too, and the guy's name was Mark Schwinghammer.

A Maplewood man who is a suspect in a local liquor store armed robbery was arrested south of Forest Lake Monday night after a brief chase by area police.

Police from Forest Lake assisted the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office in the arrest of Mark David Schwinghammer, 23 on I-35 south of TH-97 just after 8 p.m.

At 8:03, police here were notified that County Line Liquor, 24013 Goodview Way, Wyoming Township, had been robbed.

Police picked up the suspects vehicle on US-61 just north of the downtown. Schwinghammer was pursue south on US-61 and west on TH-97 before the stop on I-35 was made.

He is now in custody at the Chisago County Jail in Center City where he is being held on charges of aggravated robbery, second-degree assault, possession of a stolen handgun and fleeing a police officer.

Formal charges were expected on Tuesday.

Along with Forest Lake police, Chisago County deputies were assisted by police from Wyoming, the Minnesota State Patrol and deputies from Anoka County.
