I'll bet the closest he ever came to reading one of the comics was when he casually glanced at the title before wiping his ass with one of the books. and instead of even trying to successfully put comic material into the movie, it was just decided that they would fuck it up all on their own. cases in point: juggernaut, phoenix, psylocke, calysto, making 90% of all mutants ASIANS, and so on.
